Sherry Birkin & Steve Burnside.

I'm not even a huge fan of either character but the fact that such cliffhangers were created that have stretched on for years now keeps me interested... until maybe some time soon. I'm talkin' about Darkside Chronicles.

My random feelings/predictions of the game:

Well, Fail-Shooter as stated above. It probably won't be all that great story wise OR gameplay. I have original UC and it's really only decent fun with 2 players. I do play it alone and have beaten most of it and it can be alright at times, but meh. It's just another sloppy (and wasted) remake on what could of been awesomeness extreme. A watered down story line of RE2 and RECV, fucking with the canon, it's just ugh. And plus, if you haven't heard, Leon get's an all new scenario in..... South... America????? Okay?

I also have a feeling they're going to totally fuck over our expectations of Sherry and Steve. They're probably going to give us answers similar to 'why Umbrella is fucking GONE' from RE4 bullshitness. My guess is they're going to totally nix the fact Wesker hinted at a return of Steve and just say he's flat out dead. And for Sherry, they'll probably just be like Oh BTW lawl, she's been fine all along despite the Wesker Report (which apparently isn't even canon, since the real canon is Claire A Leon B) But yeah, I just have a really bad feeling they're going to give just a big a slap in the face as they did with 'BEE TEE DUBB! UMBRELLA IS GONE LOL.'

All that BS aside, and completely ignoring Cpacoms craptastic excuses of 'canon'...

I like to imagine that Sherry, being so young was probably easy to manipulate into thinking all was good and well by Being with Wesker/Umbrella/whoever. Besides, Wesker and William were close friends, so it's probably certain that he knew Sherry in at least some sort of way, and vice versa. So with some smooth talking and manipulation, she probably is tested on willingly since there's something 'special' about her. (Prolly G Virus and Devil vaccine in her system). So sort of like... both an accepted part of Umbrella's team, but a test subject at the same time.

Steve on the other hand, honestly his story isn't as compelling to me as Sherry's but the fangirl in me wants to cook up some kinda story and believe he's alive or resurrected or whatever. Though, I doubt Steve would be all too willing. Since Steve has the last sample of T-Veronica in existence, and his form is able to shift from hulking monster to normal human, it'd be kinda cool if that was utilized to a much more sense-making and non-shitty 'action controlling' device on him (rather then the shit they cooked up in RE5). Like, if they found a way to harness his changing abilities and be able to trigger it at will, basically forcing him to be a test subject slave.

This is where it gets gay. Kinda. Fangirl moment. I could also imagine since Wesker (allegedly) took both Sherry and Steve personally, chances are they'd meet up or at least hear of one another. It'd be pretty crazy, how they both know Claire and love her in their own certain ways, yet don't even know that fact and come off as strangers. The gay fangirl in me also can see their own relationship forming, like Sherry despite being raised by Wesker/Umbrella still feels sorry for the young man who always seems to be in pain and unwilling to be kept in the lab. Maybe to a point of sneaking in to speak with him personally, and all sorts of dramatastic situations. Like how fuckin' hilariously day-time soap opera would it be if Sherry fell for Steve? Then Claire shows up like "I'm here to save yo-- OHHH FUCK NO YOU DI'INT!"
