Lately I've been reading various discussions across multiple Resident Evil fan forums. Coupling this with articles about the current status of video games and the people who play them, I've slowly been coming to a few realizations.
Nowadays there's such a stigma against modern gamers, the majority are seen as a bunch of entitled whiners. I couldn't help but feel as I read these articles and opinions, I matched a lot of this "entitledness" and whatnot. I've always been pretty opinionated about my views on games, particularly the newer Resident Evil games... But looking back on it all, I guess I have to admit I've been really immature about the whole thing. Ungrateful, entitled, the whole bit. Along the way I've even made harsh criticisms and debates against those who do enjoy the games and now? I just feel bad for all of it.
I think I need to just take a step back and try to be more open minded. I guess I also need to admit what many of us don't want to: I've been blinded by nostalgia. Are the original Resident Evil games good? Of course they are! But I just have to face it, they are pretty outdated. The 90's doesn't feel like a long time ago, but it's been almost 15 years since then. Things change, and I've been far too stubborn to see that.
With all this being said, I'm gonna try my best to embrace the later Resident Evil games and enjoy them for what they are. I don't wanna be that cliche, whiny, entitled brat of a gamer. I should just be thankful that my favorite game franchise of all time is still around, and so should any other fans! Change doesn't have to always be bad by default. In fact, once I play through RE4, RE5 and RE6 again I might even start making some animations about them. Hell, I might even give ORC another try, too!
To wrap this all up, I'd just like to apologize if I've ever been too harsh with my reviews in the past. And to be perfectly honest to myself and all of you, april motherfuckin' fools. Hehe. Maybe it's immature, maybe I am just the cliche entitled brat of a gamer, but so help me I tried. I've tried to enjoy the newer games and get excited for them so hard! But they're just terrible in the sense of Resident Evil, and washed up hack versions of arguably better, more popular modern titles. And hell naw am I gonna make an exclusive video about any of this newer stuff. I don't wanna draw shit I hate! /drops the mic

Resident Evil 8: Village
🔸 Resident Evil 8: Village has been announced, and... Honestly, I don't feel anything. I'm not excited, nor am I disappointed. It looks like it has the potential to be a fun and scary horror FPS, with interesting rural and gothic settings. But as for being invested as a Resident Evil fan? I really just don't care anymore, and feel completely indifferent to this addition. If you're excited for RE8, I'm happy for you! And if you're disappointed, I can sympathize. As per usual, this channel has and always will focus on the games I grew up with and/or love. I don't mind having discussions of the newer games, just don't expect to see content about something just because it's new and/or popular. That would be disingenuous of me as an artist, anyway. Happy gaming, and stay safe out there!

These are my thoughts after playing RE3 Remake (hardcore & nightmare)

Generally speaking, it's a beautiful game. Raccoon City looks amazing, as do all the character models. However, despite fully expecting to see a few reused assets, all of the zombie models are entirely repurposed from RE2make. Not a single new skin has been created, and it wasn't uncommon for me to find myself against a horde with three or more copies of t

The RE3make has been announced!
Disclaimer:
As pleasantly surprised as I was with RE2make, I must stand by my opinion that the classic Resident Evil games will always be my favorites. As much as I wish we could've gotten one last classic styled game, it's clear that Capcom has no interest in ever returning to it, and probably never will, despite how vocal the fans were before RE2make was announced. I also still believe that those who feel scorned from these changes are completely valid in their feelings.
