From 2009 to 2013 I went on hiatus from Youtube. There were a few reasons for this happening; One of the major factors being a hard-drive crash which wiped nearly all of my REMusical base content. It took a long time for me embrace the change and seeing it as a way to improve myself. I also had my college art projects and studies to focus on during that time.
However, there was another reason I needed a break that I wasn't very vocal about. Truth was, I felt the Youtube community surrounding my videos had become excessively negative over time. What started out as something simple and fun had slowly transformed into a mess of drama and cruelty. Stalkers, rumors, thieves and the like only seemed to become more vile and tenacious. That's not to say there was no support or positivity; But I felt so overwhelmed by the growing hatred, spiteful rumors and rude demands that it was often hard to see anything from the positive side of things.
Now onto what I'd really like to talk about: The here and now. Ever since I've made my full return to Youtube, I've been overwhelmed again. Not by hatred and negativity... But because of how amazing you all have been with me and my animations. I've have so many wonderful comments and messages; Reminiscing the older videos, sharing personal stories, endless support, sincere appreciation, maturity and patience. It's like a complete turn-around and I can't thank you guys enough for having so much positive influence!
Maybe it's just my new perception on things, maybe most of the negative individuals left Youtube, or even grew and matured as individuals. Whatever it is, all I know is that I've been having just as great a time on Youtube now as I did before any of the negativity and drama. You've all been absolutely awesome and totally disprove the "stupid YT commenter" stigma. On the contrary, people have been polite, mature and honest, even with controversial opinions and discussions. So again, thank you all so much for being such a positive, outgoing bunch. Making videos is fun on my own time, but it's you guys who make being on Youtube fun!
