While most of you know I'm hardly fond of Resident Evil 4, I recently replayed it since it had been almost 5 years since my last time through. Most remains the same for me; I'm not a fan of the stationary camera angle, the controls and commands were at times frustrating, and don't even get me started on the dialogue, characters and story. I was tearing my hair out.

One thing though, even I can admit: It is one packed game. I mean they put a lot of stuff into that one disc. A 10+ hour main story, a complete side-story, shooting ranges, Assignment Ada, and of course The Mercenaries. I might not be a fan of the mini games in general but damn, that is a lot of content. Content that all came out in one complete disc, starting at $49.95. While Capcom had just started to lose their edge on storytelling and to an extent, gameplay mechanics, in the very least it was still a time when their games were complete.

Try that nowadays! I think your average next-gen game starts off at $59.95- Sometimes more- And you end up with a glitchy, half-finished game. But don't worry, you can patch it up and get the missing content with DLC... at $4.99 a pop. Each sold separately. To anyone who may have still been curious, this is why I still don't own Resident Evil 6. I've heard rumors of bug patches and overall make-the-game-better patches. Not to mention all the DLC I'm sure they're going to release at a later date. I'd rather just wait for the "Gold Edition" that is sure to come, plus wait for it to be a used copy or on sale.

It's just a shame. If I thought Resident Evil, or any game series' for that matter were starting to go downhill due to pandering to what's popular, it's even worse now that the main goal is suckering people for a few extra bucks over DLC. I understand it's a business still but, hot damn. What are you guys' thought on the whole matter? I thought it'd be nice to discuss something since I haven't been able to draw much recently- Hopefully soon, though!

But yeah anyway, shit sucks.

Is it just me, or have you all forgotten about another factor that doesn't make or break a game but is still important...
The soundtrack! A series with great music that fits the environment (IE halo) can have great replay value... or the soundtrack will be put on youtube where the commenters subsequently argue about halo vs COD,but I digress.
For example, I don't really adore modern warfare, but one of the reasons I like the Sniper level is the great soundtrack (Ghillies in the mist) it really fit's the environment well, especially the part that plays while you're sneaking by that huge russian patrol. (I must have died at least 10 times there on my 1st playthrough)
