Drawn for a display at my library workplace. This year is Pippi Longstocking's 70th birthday!
I used to watch The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking all the goddamn time when I was little. When I was asked to draw this, I was slapped with pre-teen nostalgia like you ain't ever even seen. Pippi is basically one of my long-lost heroes. Rewatching the film, it's still a lot of fun and I think Pippi is a pretty good role model... if a bit anarchic. But FUCK it! Follow yo' dreams, even if people say you can't do that shit. Do it anyway. Y'know, as long as it's legal and moral.
"Onnea Pippi" means "Congratulations, Pippi" in Finnish
